Cobalt Jackson: A very interesting Thanksgiving: Part 2
"Oh no. Do you think that it's--" Emily was interrupted.
"My biggest enemy? Yes." Cobalt went slightly faster and tried not to make it obvious that he was trying to lose the car behind him.
"Why don't you just deal with him...arrest him? Like, right now?" Emily asked.
Cobalt sighed. "Because I don't want you to get hurt." Cobalt said.
"What--you don't want me to get hurt? I'm a Navy Seal for the love of pete!" Emily said.
"Just because you're a Seal doesn't mean that you won't get hurt, Emily." Cobalt replied. "Stop the car, now!" Emily yelled. "No, Emily. We aren't going to fight this guy!" Cobalt said. "It's two against one." Emily stated. "Emily, you don't know this man. We are not going to fight him!" Cobalt explained. "Fine." Emily sat back in her seat. Silence. Cobalt looked to his side mirror. There was no black car. "We lost him." Cobalt said. Suddenly, a gas station appeared up ahead. Cobalt parked there. I'm going to go inside, you want anything?" Cobalt asked. "Dr. Pepper please!" Emily said. Cobalt jumped out of the car. "I'll be back." Cobalt said. He shut the door and locked the car.
Emily sat alone in the Toyota truck, staring out the window. Suddenly, she saw lights ahead. Car lights. The car got closer and closer to the gas station. Finally, Emily could see the car fully. A black truck. "Oh no, oh no, oh no." She mumbled to herself. The black vehicle stopped next to Cobalt's Toyota truck. A man opened up the door to his car and stepped out. It was the strange person at Pelo's. Emily slowly pressed the button to unlock the car doors. And when she did, there was a click. "One...two...three!" She said. Emily dove out of the car and tackled the man.
The man threw Emily off of himself and got up. They kicked and punched, hit and dodged. But suddenly, right as Emily was about to knock the man to the ground, the man kicked her foot and she fell onto the ground instead.
"You insolent fool!" The man said. He stuck his hand into his jacket and pulled out a pistol. "Where is Cobalt?" The man asked in a disgusted tone.
"Emily!" A voice yelled. Emily looked over and saw Cobalt who was now charging the man. The man pointed his gun at Cobalt, and pulled the trigger. Bang!
"Cobalt!" Emily screamed. The man looked back to Emily with a grim smile.
"You're next." The man aimed his gun. But Emily wasn't going to allow anything to happen. She quickly dove up off of the ground and slammed into the man. The gun went off, but only shot the sky. Emily knocked the weapon away and pinned the man down.
"Trying to shoot a woman? What a gentleman." Emily said.
"I don't mean to be a gentleman." Suddenly, the man kicked Emily off and to the ground.
He got up and dusted himself off. He picked up his gun and cocked it.
"Now say goodbye, for good." The gun fired. And found it's target.
"Cobalt!" Emily yelled. There was Cobalt, standing not far away with a gun in his hand, it was smoking. "No, goodbye to you, Dante." Cobalt said. The man growled and then doubled over. "Dante?" Emily said.
"Yup. Are you okay?" Cobalt asked.
"Fine. But the question is...how did you survive that shot?" Emily said.
"That bullet didn't hit me. It was all an act." Cobalt grinned a little.
Emily gasped and then slapped Cobalt. "That is for scaring me."
"And this, is for saving me." Emily said as she walked towards Cobalt. She kissed him.
Cobalt blushed a little, and then stared into Emily's blue eyes. They embraced.
The police had arrived at the scene, and had taken Dante away where he would spend the next 30 years of his life in prison. "Emily," Cobalt began.
"Yes?" She asked.
"I've been meaning to ask you something...I just haven't worked up the courage to ask you." Cobalt replied.
"You? Not have courage? That's hard to believe..." Emily laughed.
"Yes, yes it is. Anyways..." Cobalt knelt and stuck his hand in his pocket. He pulled out a small black case.
"Will you, Emily...will you marry me?" Cobalt finally asked. He opened the case and inside was a golden ring with a red ruby in the center.
"Oh...Cobalt!" Emily said shocked. And then she hugged him tightly. "Yes, yes! A million times yes!" Emily said. A wedding would have to be held two weeks from now.
Hoped you all liked this Thanksgiving special!
